I stumbled onto Jen maybe a 9 months ago because I was looking for YT vids on how to pack a suitcase. There were some pretty good ones – like two weeks in Africa in a carry on. Then there was Jen. She had like three suitcases for a week and she had all these sub-compartments and bags and bins inside the case. I was impressed because it seemed extremely detail oriented (but in reality – wtf?) I watched a couple more, and then a couple more, and I was liking her. She's kind of funny and makes weird faces and noises – which I found to be cute and endearing as she does not really need to post weird videos of herself on the internet.
Then… BOOM. Lightbulb, she's a nut job. I think it was a birthday haul video – one that just wouldn't end. I cannot even wrap my head around how much she just blew for her birthday. Then there was a PD Haul video (personal day, because you know, the woman needs a personal day – um, you don't work, have house keepers, and no children – every day is a personal day) and I lost my f-ing brain. I sat stunned at my computer, feeling completely disgusted and somehow worthless. I vowed no more, and didn't revisit her…until yesterday.
I fell down that rabbit hole gurugossiper. I think the thing that totally got me is the Jen and Crafting link. She has a ton of vlogs on her craft room/office. One nice lady in that forum added up the cost of her furniture in the office – is was $10k for furniture alone. And its all jammed packed in there, and she doesn't seem to do ANY crafts!? I have to sit at my dining room table, shove crafts in random drawers and cabinets around my house and I LOVE that shit.
Don't get me wrong, I would NEVER want to be Jennifer Ross. I will say that I spent $50 more than I planned to a Target today. My clearance 7th Generation dish soap in a fancy bottle doesn't really compare to her Restoration Hardware dish soap, and then the backup she's got. But I found myself saying "You deserve it" more than I ever do. What a bad influence!

I stumbled onto Jen maybe a 9 months ago because I was looking for YT vids on how to pack a suitcase. There were some pretty good ones – like two weeks in Africa in a carry on. Then there was Jen. She had like three suitcases for a week and she had all these sub-compartments and bags and bins inside the case. I was impressed because it seemed extremely detail oriented (but in reality – wtf?) I watched a couple more, and then a couple more, and I was liking her. She's kind of funny and makes weird faces and noises – which I found to be cute and endearing as she does not really need to post weird videos of herself on the internet.
Then… BOOM. Lightbulb, she's a nut job. I think it was a birthday haul video – one that just wouldn't end. I cannot even wrap my head around how much she just blew for her birthday. Then there was a PD Haul video (personal day, because you know, the woman needs a personal day – um, you don't work, have house keepers, and no children – every day is a personal day) and I lost my f-ing brain. I sat stunned at my computer, feeling completely disgusted and somehow worthless. I vowed no more, and didn't revisit her…until yesterday.
I fell down that rabbit hole gurugossiper. I think the thing that totally got me is the Jen and Crafting link. She has a ton of vlogs on her craft room/office. One nice lady in that forum added up the cost of her furniture in the office – is was $10k for furniture alone. And its all jammed packed in there, and she doesn't seem to do ANY crafts!? I have to sit at my dining room table, shove crafts in random drawers and cabinets around my house and I LOVE that shit.
Don't get me wrong, I would NEVER want to be Jennifer Ross. I will say that I spent $50 more than I planned to a Target today. My clearance 7th Generation dish soap in a fancy bottle doesn't really compare to her Restoration Hardware dish soap, and then the backup she's got. But I found myself saying "You deserve it" more than I ever do. What a bad influence!
